Glossier Futuredew
buuk.top / Glossier
Gives the skin a long-lasting, dewy glow
Contains nourishing ingredients
There’s really nothing else like it on the market
Might not work well with oily skin
Futuredew is like a subtle, all-over highlighter for your face. It’s silky and dewy, works under makeup but doesn’t feel sticky. It’s like sweat shine in a bottle (minus the sweat, of course).

There’s a fine line between skin that is greasy and skin that is glowy. It’s a line I sometimes cross—probably more often than most, given I am a beauty writer by trade with a penchant for skin so glossy it’s almost reflective. I’m not sure how and why I arrived at this place. Perhaps I’m scarred by my teenage years when I wore powder so thick I was basically breathing in talc. Maybe I’m just a victim of Instagram culture? Either way, it’s a beauty trend I don’t ever want to quit. One product that helps me live out my glowy girl dreams is Glossiers Futuredew. The oil serum hybrid is a subtle, all-over highlighter for your face. If that alone doesnt pique your interest, let me further clue you into the products magic. In my experience, I found that it delivers 12 hours of hydration and works well under makeup without feeling sticky.Ahead, read my in-depth review of Futuredew.
Best for: Most skin types
Uses: To add sheen to bare skin or build up a dewy base for makeup
Clean? Yes
Price: $24
About the brand: Glossier is a millennial-focused beauty brand founded by Emily Weiss. The premise is skin first, makeup second. They are most widely known for their innovative products, baby pink branding, and trendy brick-and-mortar retail experiences.
About My Skin: No major concerns
To use the skin type analogy, I’d say I’m normal to combination.I really can’t complain. If anything, a slight overproduction of oil just helps me achieve my desired dewy complexion. But that does mean I have to exercise caution with certain products—anything too heavy or occlusive will leave me looking just plain ol’ greasy. Though this is fine at times, its not something I want every day.
Ingredients: A nourishing formula
Even though Futuredew isn’t a dedicated skincare product, it still contains lots of ingredients that are considered to be nourishing. The formula includes oils like grapeseed, rosehip, jojoba, and evening primrose, as well as squalane and light-reflecting minerals.
How To Use: Easy to incorporate into your routine
Futuredew is for those obsessed with a glossy, healthy, ultra-moisturized skin finish. A word of warning: this may not be great for oily folks. Similarly, if youre going for a matte makeup look, get yourself a gripping, silicone-based primer instead.
The critical element here is that you apply Futuredew as the last step in your skincare routine (that includes sunscreen). This is so you don’t lose out on glow or mess with the texture by layering other skin products on top.
Once applied, you can go in with makeup, but personally, I think it’s great on bare skin. Add cream blush and a swipe of concealer, and you’ll look fresh out of a renaissance painting. And who doesn’t want that?
The Results: Glowy, dolphin-like skin
buuk.top / Emily Algar
At the risk of sounding like an internet clickbait cliché, Futuredew will give you dolphin-like skin. It’s not shiny or shimmery, or frosted. Instead, it’s colorless and glassy. And the best part is that it stays this way. No drying down or melting off. Just a gleaming complexion from dusk till dawn.
The Value: A reasonable price
For $24, Futuredew is super reasonable, as is the entire Glossier product line. It’s not a "treatment" product, so to speak, so not everyone will see the value, but if you crave a complexion that says I-just-did-Pilates without the need for artfully placed highlighters and luminous foundations, you’ll love it.
Similar Products: You have options
I wholeheartedly believe that Glossier Futuredew stands alone, but you can absolutely find other products that will give you a serious glow.
Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter: This has more of a shimmery finish than dewy, but it still works wonders when it comes to giving skin a lit-from-within appearance. The Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44) can be mixed into foundation or as a targeted highlight, too.
Laneige Glowy Makeup Serum: As far as similar products go, this serum probably comes the closest to the texture and finish of Futuredew. The Laneige Glowy Makeup Serum ($32) feels super silky and gives skin a really nice glow. While designed for use before makeup, this also works on bare skin. The key difference, however, is longevity. This product slightly dries down with time.
Final Verdict
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: Futuredew is great. It may even be the greatest Glossier product overall. I love how unique it is and that it truly delivers on the premise of long-lasting dewiness. If glossy, almost-sweaty skin is your aesthetic, get your hands on this stat.
