We purchased the Vibriance Super C Serum so our writer could put it to the test. Keep reading for our full product review.
When it comes to products that everyone should have in their routine—no matter their age or skin type—a vitamin C serum is one of the most recommended, from dermatologists to beauty editors alike. Not only is the ingredient able to promote radiant skin and fade post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, but it’s also able to protect the skin from free radical damage, which can cause signs of aging.1
There are so many to choose from on the market, so when we saw this serum from Vibriance going nuts on TikTok and noted it has almost 3,000 glowing Amazon reviews, we were interested in giving it a try. We tested it out over two weeks, using it morning and night to see how effective its formula was. Read on for our review and the (pretty incredible) results.
Vibriance Super C Serum
Best for: All skin types
Uses:Prevents and reduces wrinkles, brightens and smooths complexion, fades pigmentation, and hydrates
Active ingredients: 3-O ethyl ascorbic acid (vitamin C), vitamin E, caffeine, pro-vitamin b5
Cruelty-free:Yes
Price: $47
About the Brand:Skincare brand Vibriance makes products that target aging and dull skin, with science-backed formulations and ingredients that are proven to show results.
About the Ingredients: Powerful antioxidants
The Super C Serum is marketed as a vitamin C serum, but it contains a potent blend of other active ingredients, such as vitamin B5, vitamin E, and caffeine, which board-certified dermatologist Dr. Marisa Garshick, M.D., explains helps to reduce inflammation and redness.
Its first main ingredient is 3-O ethyl ascorbic acid, which is a more stable derivative of pure vitamin C.2It can do the exact same things that any vitamin C can, like brighten, fade spots, and reduce signs of aging, just without oxidizing so easily. This means it can last longer after opening, and it doesn’t need to be stored in the refrigerator.
It also contains vitamin E, which is known for its moisturizing and healing properties, and pro-vitamin B5, which is able to soothe inflamed skin and improve moisture retention. Another key ingredient is caffeine—a popular antioxidant ingredient in anti-aging products because it can brighten and fight free radicals.
About the Formula: Great for all skin types
According to Garshick, all skin types can use this vitamin C serum. "It works as a multitasker helping to address discoloration and improve radiance," she explains. Just be wary of the fact that it contains lemon fruit water—the serums first ingredient—which gives it a pretty strong lemony scent. Although we found it pleasant, it did make our nose itch for a few minutes after application. Thankfully, the smell doesnt linger, but if you are sensitive to fragrances (or lemon specifically), keep this in mind.

How to Apply: Easily absorbs
Well be honest, this serum is on the thicker side. We had to use a pump or two to cover our entire face, but we appreciated that the viscous texture absorbed effortlessly into the skin, leaving no residue behind. As a matter of fact, our skin felt hydrated and less tight after application, priming skin perfectly for moisturizer or SPF.
Wed be remiss not to mention the packaging, which keeps the formula viable for a while. According to Garshick, opaque packaging minimizes the formulas exposure to light and air, preventing it from oxidizing faster. "Keep in mind that vitamin C has gone bad if it smells bad or appears dark in color," she explains. "Its best for vitamin C to be used within 3-6 months of opening."
The Results: Instantly brighter skin
When we’ve tried vitamin C serums in the past, we couldn’t tell if it actually made a difference until we already finished with the bottle, which is most likely due to the fact that hyperpigmentation can sometimes take months to fade. But, sure enough, this serum provided almost instant results and made our dull skin look vibrant upon application. Plus, it feels super hydrating, making skin appear softer and smoother, no matter the season.

The Value: Cost-effective for the results
Vitamin C serums are often very expensive, and this falls at about the middle of the range at almost $50. It is a small size, but we think it has great value since you only need a pump or two and it can treat multiple skin issues—Garshick calls it a multi-tasker that improves dark spots, smoothes skin, hydrates, and moisturizes. Instead of buying a serum for aging, one for hydrating, and one for dark spots, this serum can address them all.

Sunday Riley C.E.O Vitamin C Brightening Serum ($85): This vitamin C serum is a splurge compared to Glow Recipe’s, but it’s made with 15 percent vitamin C and targets dark spots and signs of aging.
La Roche-Posay Pure Vitamin C Face Serum with Salicylic Acid ($47): For a vitamin C serum that does more than brighten and target dark spots, La Roche Posay’s Pure Vitamin C Face Serum is a great option. It’s formulated with salicylic acid, which helps promote clear skin, and hyaluronic acid, which helps with hydration.
SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic ($182): This cult-favorite SkinCeuticals serum also packs in vitamin E and ferulic acid—but it comes with a $182 price tag. It also has a ton of research behind it, as well as clear ingredient percentages, so you can be confident that you’ll get results. If you can swing it in your budget, this is an excellent alternative.
Final Verdict
If you’re struggling with hyperpigmentation or aging skin, the Vibriance Super C Serum is a great pick that can tackle both concerns. It immediately brightens the complexion and hydrates, without leaving any residue or causing a stinging sensation.
